Stone houses in the landscape

Living in the landscape without wounding it.

A family of new homes rising from the earth and stone of Sicily: low, pure volumes, dry-stone walls, travertine and lime plaster, gardens of Mediterranean plants that seem to grow straight out of the rocks.

Deep porches filter the sun and become outdoor rooms; large glazing disappears so the interior runs on into the landscape. Each house is oriented to catch the breeze and shelter from the westerly wind.
